Recent Pictures

If you hadn't noticed, I have been slacking on the blog lately.  Here are some pictures from the last week . . .

Bentley had prunes for the first time.  He doesn't look terribly impressed, does he?

He also "drank" (I use that term loosely) from his first sippy cup.

Guess who is hiding in this blanket . . .

Bentley!  He somehow managed to roll himself up in it.  I swear I didn't have anything to do with it but I sure did take pictures!

Bailey greeted me at the door (to her playhouse) with this lovely smile:

Grandpa Buck got the kids this neat Y-Bike. Bailey rides on it now but Bentley will be able to use it as a walking toy when he gets bigger, too.  Bailey LOVES it and lately has been "racing" with Bunny on her old ride-on toy.

Last Friday was Grandpa Kerste's birthday so we went to dinner and then had some quality time together at the house where I took these pictures:

Saturday morning we took a quick trip to the zoo.  We were there long enough for Bailey's (and Bentley's) first train ride:

And some time at the playground:

Bentley napped:

And, of course, a ride on the carousel:

Sunday we went to Aunt Lesli's for a BBQ.  Bailey played in the pool in an inflatable boat that Uncle Gene got her.  She was LOVING it! Can you tell?

Here is a full picture (an action shot!) of her in the cute Dora swimsuit Grandma Kerste got her:

Grandma and Grandpa Buck were there for the fun, too.

Another Busy Weekend - Part 2

Well, we wrapped up our weekend with another whirlwind day of fun activities!

First up was Garmin's annual event at Worlds of Fun.  You might remember we went last year (2011) and the year before (2010). It's amazing to look back at those posts and see how much Bailey has grown!  This year she was really excited about being there and doing things (e.g., Rides!).

We had limited time to spend there so we headed straight to Planet Snoopy to see what, if anything, she would/could do there.  We got off to a bit of a rough start in Planet Snoopy because, as it turned out, Snoopy was there to greet kids at the entrance . . . and you know how Bailey is with mascots/characters.  She ran back to me and demanded I hold her as soon as she saw him.  Then, when we walked near him (to pass him), I could feel her little body shake and she started to cry. It was traumatic and clearly she was in no mood for pictures with Snoopy - even this Snoopy statue.

There were actually several rides that Bailey could ride (alone and with a parent) and she wanted to do them all!  The first thing she rode was a Race Car. It looked innocent enough but it packed some punch around the corners.  Check it out:

She didn't look like she loved it but she wanted to ride it again later so I guess it wasn't too bad!  Bob made me laugh like crazy with these pictures:

Next, Bailey drove Daddy around in a big truck! Aren't they cute?

Meanwhile, Bentley fell asleep for a short nap.

After the trucks, Bailey rode her first solo-ride - a ladybug. Again, she didn't look like she was enjoying it at the time but she said she wanted to ride it again as soon as it was over!

Bentley woke up while sister was in line for another ride.
He helped check out the park map:

After the ladybug ride, Bailey rode by herself in a boat.

It was getting late so we tried for a few more photo ops on our way out of Planet Snoopy:

Not surprisingly, Bailey fell right to sleep in the car.
You'll never guess where we were headed . . . Yep, the Royals game!  Bentley took his nap at the game.

He was in a GREAT mood when we got home.  I got some good giggles from him before I even took him out of the carseat!

Bob gave Bentley a bath and then let him play on the floor (after being cooped up in a carseat and stroller all day).

He was still tired enough for one last (short) nap this evening before going to bed tonight!

Bob and I are both achy and exhausted tonight from all this weekend's activity.  We all had fun, though!

Another Busy Weekend - Part 1

It's only half over but it's already been another busy weekend for us.  We got up early this morning and went to the Plaza to participate in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk.  I wore Bentley in the ErgoBaby carrier and Bailey rode in the stroller until the official walk began.

Once the crowd of walkers took off, we put Bentley in the stroller and let Bailey walk with us.  She did pretty well, albeit at your typical leisurely two-year-old's pace.

And of course she wanted to be carried some.

We walked past the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art and Bailey was intrigued by a "tunnel" she saw in one of the sculptures on the lawn, so we stopped to check it out.

The kids took a nap as soon as we got home but, once they were up, we hit the road again.  This time we went to Aunt Lesli's house to celebrate cousin Matthew's birthday.  Grandma Bilyeu was there too celebrate, too.  Bentley had a good time with her and Aunt Lesli (meanwhile, Uncle Gene was Bailey's best bud!).

After visiting for a couple hours, we went to our home-away-from-home . . . Kauffman Stadium!  We got there a little early for the giveaway (a cute Royals garden gnome) so Bailey got to ride on the carousel and play on the playground in the Outfield Experience.  She was a happy girl!

We left at the top of the 8th inning so we could get the kids home to bathe them and put them to bed.  They had a busy day!

Bob gave Bentley a rockin' faux-hawk after his bath.  Have I mentioned how I love that?!

Such a handsome stud (speaking of stud, you should have seen Bentley flirting with a pretty girl sitting behind us at the game tonight - he's already a ladies man!).
